In March 2013 our engineers inspected and carried out testing on the combined drain under Hawkins Street in Dublin City. The requirements of the survey were a detailed inspection of the existing lining system including condition and dimensions and at regular intervals to record and confirm the presence of embedded reinforcement in the lining system. The presence of reinforcement and the thickness of the cementitious lining would be used by structural engineers to determine the load capacity of the combined drain.
Safety was critical during this inspection and each the 6-man team were confined spaces trained and experienced in similar types of surveys. Each team member entering the combined drain was equipped with a gas specific gas detector; breathing apparatus escape sets and harness. Forced air ventilation equipment was also available on site.
A detailed report was prepared by Infrastruct AMS and issued to our Client.
